2015年5月19日，由诺丁汉大学语言中心汉语教师王维群老师介绍，诺丁汉孔子学院受邀前往诺丁汉大学女王医学中心为癌症关怀小组带去了一场别开生面的小型中国文化工作坊。关怀小组十余位成员参与了此次活动。

工作坊包括文化专题、乐器欣赏、汉语初探和书法体验等环节，小组成员们或认真聆听专题讲解，或饶有兴趣地对不同环节提问，或积极拼读汉语拼音，或仔细观察中国传统乐器的形态并陶醉在柔美音乐的海洋中，最后还用毛笔写出了第一个汉字，并获赠精美中国小礼品，短短几个小时的工作坊让大家笑逐颜开、意犹未尽。工作坊结束后，小组负责人还特意向孔院赠送了小礼物表示感谢。此次活动还获得副校长Chris Rudd教授的特别赞赏。

此次活动是继年轻人关怀者活动以来，诺丁汉孔院第二次弱势群体关怀文化活动，今后孔院将继续在原有活动范围基础上，向更多不同人群展现中国文化的独特魅力。

Nottingham Confucius Institute Held Culture Workshop for Cancer Care Group

Be introduced by University teacher, Mrs Weiqun Wang, Nottingham Confucius Institute was invited to hold a special culture workshop for Cancer Care Group. More than 10 group members attended this workshop.

The workshop includes Chinese food introduction, Chinese instruments, basic mandarin words and calligraphy experience. The group members listened to the presentation carefully and asked many questions. They also enjoyed the beauty of Chinese instruments and traditional music. Besides, they tried to read and write some basic Chinese words. The workshop makes them very happy. NCI is also honoured to receive small gifts from the group. PVC Prof Chris Rudd also praised this event.

This is the second time NCI cares about more social vulnerable groups after the Young Careers’ Event. NCI will carry on with this kind of activities in the future to introduce Chinese culture to more local people.
