2015年11月20日，诺丁汉孔子学院应邀前往Kettering为Brooke Weston Academy中学举办了一次中国语言文化工作坊活动。学校7至10年级共两个班40位学生参加了这次中国语言文化体验活动。此次活动不仅包括上午的语言课，还涵盖了下午丰富多彩的中国传统文化活动。

上午的语言课上，孔院四位汉语教师将学生按照年级分为两个班，从基础语音、汉字及简单交际对话等方面为学生带来了一堂汉语言体验课。课上学生求知若渴，积极参加课堂练习，迅速掌握了“你叫什么名字”等简单对话。

下午的文化活动首先从书法开始，包括了国画、葫芦丝与太极等丰富的体验环节。孩子们在孔院老师的指导下，先后体验了书法的艺术、葫芦丝美妙的演奏以及太极的刚柔并济。在葫芦丝环节中，学生听完孔院老师的演奏，表现出了极大的兴趣，甚至有几位学生拿起葫芦丝，凭借着自己的乐感即兴就吹奏出了《小星星》等儿歌。整个工作坊以太极环节作为结尾，在感受太极之美的同时，孔院教师与学生依依不舍结束了本次语言文化工作坊活动。

Nottingham Confucius Institute successfully carried out Chinese Language and Culture Workshop in Brooke Weston Academy High School

November20, 2015, Nottingham Confucius Institute was invited by Brooke Weston Academy High School to deliver a workshop on Chinese language and culture activities. 40 students from school year 7 to year 10 who made two classes participated in the Chinese language and cultural experience. This workshop included not only language courses in the morning, but also colourful Chinese traditional cultural activities in the afternoon session.

In language taster classes, four Chinese teachers from Confucius Institute delivered basic phonetic system, Chinese characters and simple communicative dialogues to students. All of the students in class thirst for knowledge, and actively participated in classroom exercises, therefore, they quickly mastered a simple conversation in Chinese language asking about names and greeting each other.

Cultural activities in the afternoon kicked off with Chinese calligraphy, and moved on to Chinese painting, Hulusi demonstration and Tai Chi. Children experienced different artistic Chinese traditional activities. In Hulusi session, students showed great interest after they listened to the Confucius Institute teacher play a piece of traditional song using this instrument. At last, Tai Chi introduction and practise perfectly put the whole workshop to an end by guiding the students to feel the beauty of Tai Chi.
