2016年1月5日，诺丁汉大学孔子学院的中方院长孟金蓉和三位教师一起应邀前往Minster School为该校200余名师生开展中国文化工作坊。Minster School有着悠久的历史和良好的声誉，当天是该校的各国语言体验日。

    孟院长和老师们给不同的八个班轮流上课，虽然每节课只有30分钟，但老师们通过精心准备和设计，让课程精彩充实。在这30分钟内，大家不仅学会了“你好”、“谢谢”、“再见”等日常基本用语，还体验了剪纸和书法等实践活动。课堂氛围十分热烈，现场互动频繁，学生们纷纷表示对中国语言和文化充满了兴趣。

    作为新年的第一个工作坊，此次活动取得了圆满的成功，得到了学生和教师们的一致好评。Minster School的老师们也表示希望诺丁汉孔子学院以后能举办更多类似活动，给学生们提供一个平台，让他们更好地感知中国，了解世界。

NCI delivers Chinese language and cultural workshop to Minster School

January 5, 2016, Dr. Meng, the Deputy Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Nottingham, altogether with three teachers, Dr. Huijuan Liu, Miss Man Fu, and Miss Ran Li were invited to Minster School to deliver Chinese cultural workshop for more than 200 students. Minster School has a long history and enjoys a good reputation locally, and the workshop was set on the school languages day.

All CI teachers prepared different sessions for students and they successfully ran 8 classes on that day with 3 sessions for each class. During the 30 minutes of each session, the students not only learned " Hello " , "Thank you" , "Goodbye " and other daily basic mandarin sentences, but also experienced paper cutting and calligraphy practice. They all have shown great interest in Chinese language and culture.

To kick off 2016, this workshop was a complete success. Minster School teachers also expressed their appreciation towards Nottingham Confucius Institute for holding the event and providing a platform for students to get to know China better and gain an international sight.
