        7月2日，爱德曼·华特孔子课堂两位教师及课堂太极队、舞蹈队为爱德曼·华特中学夏日集会活动带来了精彩纷呈的中国文化体验项目。逾500人次参与了此次活动，让孔子课堂给当地带来了巨大影响。

图一：中国手工，老少咸宜

    英国的夏天没有一丝热意，但这是爱德曼·华特中学举办的第一届夏日集会活动，前来参加的家长和孩子们都热情满满。孔子课堂为此次集会精心准备了多项中国文化体验活动，黄冰老师展示的剪纸和折纸手艺让围观的人赞不绝口，大家纷纷拿起彩纸尝试起来，窗花、小船、小鱼、百合花，不一而足；叶李贝贝老师带领的太极队则在集会上展示了一套混编太极拳法，经过近一年的训练，孔子课堂现已有一个稳定的由当地家长、老师组成的太极队伍，并不断吸收着更多当地群众前来学习太极。由课堂中文班的孩子组成的舞蹈队表演的新疆舞更是牢牢地吸引了在场孩子和家长的目光，女孩们上下翻飞的红色裙摆，让人们在这凉爽的夏日仿佛感受到了来自新疆的热浪。

    通过此次活动，孔子课堂在当地社区更加深入人心，平时不常接触学校生活的家长们也深深领略到了中国文化的魅力，这有助于课堂工作在当地的进一步开展。相信通过更多类似活动，中国语言文化一定会在当地产生更加深远的影响。

CCAWS Demonstrates Chinese Culture on Alderman White School Summer Fest

Confucius Classroom at Alderman White School joint the Summer Fest on 2^nd July and brought handcraft workshop, Xinjiang dance performance and Taichi demonstration. The handcraft workshop is provided by Huang Bing, mandarin teacher of the CCAWS. She taught how to make paper vase, paper flower, paper boat, paper bird, etc. Both children and parents showed great interest to the workshop. The Xinjiang dance performance is produced by Nottingham Chinese School dance group. The red Xinjiang dresses the girls danced in looked like flame and brought the cool summer warmth andenthusiasm. There was also Taiji demonstration on the stage performed by the CCAWS Taiji group. The group has been trained for nearly one year and the group members demonstrated Yang 24 and Chen 18 routine which attracted a lot of attention and applaud.
